TOM releases an intensely personal track, a soul-searching tribute to his mother. « Saying that music is therapy might sound cliché, » he explains, « but for me, it truly is, without ego. » The song touches on delicate themes: grief, addiction, and his outlook on life today.
The track is built on an emotive piano-voice production, culminating in a powerful drop and the inclusion of a Thai flute in the final measures—an emotional nod to his mother, who lived in Thailand at the end of her life. The result is a song that feels melancholy yet full of emotion.
The release date, October 14, 2024, is no coincidence; it marks the 11th anniversary of her passing, a deeply meaningful moment for the artist. Short visuals will accompany the release to capture the essence of this heartfelt piece.
TOM closes with a touching message: « I hope the emotion and effort behind this song resonate with you. Mom, I love you. »
Biography
TOM, a rapper and songwriter, grew up with diverse influences, from Manu Chao, NTM, Brassens, to Renaud. In 2018, after a trip to Thailand, he fully embraced music. Rap naturally became his therapy, shaped by life experiences, including the loss of his mother at 18.
In 2021-2022, a key encounter with a sound engineer in Montpellier marked a turning point. TOM spent countless hours in the studio, investing heavily to refine his artistic direction. In 2023, he released his first tracks, and by 2024, his style was fully formed: a blend of melancholy, meaningful lyrics, and intricate rhyme techniques.
Inspired by Sniper, Guizmo, and Limsa d’Aulnay, TOM is now carving out his own path, combining authenticity with passion.
