RLaRage: Raw talent, tribal beats, and a music story that you can feel.
Let’s rewind to 2020 for today’s spotlight. Back then, I was still living in Switzerland, and a young artist from my city caught me completely off guard with his raw talent, authenticity, and bold originality. That artist is none other than RLaRage.
I first stumbled upon him through his fiery freestyles, but it was the knockout punch of his track « Allumettes » that truly pulled me in. However, the project I want to shine a light on today is Vie Hadalle II.
This project tells a genuine, heartfelt story, elevated by interludes that are as unique as they are gripping—breaking away from the usual tropes of French rap. Tribal-inspired sounds lace these interludes, giving them a rare and captivating edge.
Musically, Vie Hadalle II is where RLaRage’s authenticity takes center stage. The sonic textures and influences blend seamlessly with contemporary beats, creating something truly memorable. You’ll hear traces of Arabic music, like malouf, alongside tribal elements—think pounding drums and organic rhythms.
Each track stands strong on its own, and there’s something for everyone in this eclectic mix. While Vie Hadalle II was still a rough diamond at the time, RLaRage has since sharpened his craft, delivering releases that are consistently polished and high-quality.
If I had to pick threetracks to give you a feel for this project, I’d go with Monde, Lobo Solitario, and Seul.
Now it’s your turn: dive into or revisit this remarkable project and immerse yourself in its world. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
