Review
This volume is a tough one to get into—maybe I’ve grown too accustomed to more recent comics or those from the ’80s. Here, the text is dense, with each page overflowing with dialogue and narration wrapped around a storyline that’s long and intricate, almost labyrinthine.
As for the villains, there seems to be a lack of a truly formidable foe—someone with the sheer power to pose a real threat, the kind of unforgettable antagonist that stays with readers.
The authors seem to be in search of impactful moments to hook their audience. Between costume changes and the death of Professor X, they’re clearly not afraid to upend the status quo.
