Review
It feels good to get back to the roots of the character. After several volumes of the main series since D.G. Chichester’s run, it seemed like the artistic direction for the character was starting to lose its way.
Reading this volume, though—it’s like a gut punch of clarity. It slams the character right back into his rightful place, the cornerstone he was meant to be. It doesn’t just make him compelling again; it deepens the lore, reaching back to the early days of his story and giving them sharper edges.
Narratively and visually, it’s razor-sharp. The art grabs you by the collar, and the storytelling doesn’t let go—it demands rereading, devouring, obsessing. No question, I’m spreading the word. This is a killer volume, one I’d recommend at 200% to anyone, especially new readers.
